Overview, Ethos and Values
Overview
Our college facility is a Specialist Post-16 Institution offering personalised education and support for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans, all of whom have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
We create a calm, safe and purposeful environment where students are understood as individuals and supported to rebuild confidence, develop their voice and move towards independent, thriving futures.
Our mission is to deliver high-quality academic, vocational and life-skills pathways that prepare students for adulthood — including employment, further learning and independent living. Through trauma-informed practice, meaningful relationships and carefully structured next-step planning, we empower each student to take ownership of their progress and achieve the goals that matter to them.
Ethos and Values
At Oaktree Education Services, we aim to equip children and young people with the skills and confidence they need to transition successfully into adulthood. We believe this is achieved through an inclusive, safe and supportive educational environment that promotes independence, resilience, belonging and respect, particularly for pupils who have experienced barriers to education.
We recognise that many pupils we work with are vulnerable and that safety, consistency and positive relationships are essential foundations for learning. Behaviour is understood as communication, and clear routines and boundaries are used to create a sense of security and predictability.
We work flexibly but purposefully, combining high levels of support with high expectations for engagement, behaviour and progress. Teaching and support are personalised, recognising that pupils re-engage at different rates and require individual pathways to success. Through consistent practice and respectful relationships, we support pupils to develop the confidence, skills and behaviours needed to move forward positively in their education and lives.
