Post-16

At Oaktree Education Post-16, we believe that every students deserves to feel safe, valued, understood and ambitious about their future.

Many of the students who join us have experienced significant challenges in education and in life. Some arrive feeling disconnected from learning, lacking confidence in themselves or uncertain about where they belong. Our role is not simply to provide students with an education, it is to help student rebuild trust in themselves and others, develop independence and discover what they are capable of.

As Headteacher, I am exceptionally proud to lead our specialist post-16 institution. As an SPI, we provide a high quality of education that combines high expectations with genuine care. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do because we understand that meaningful progress happens when students feel emotionally secure, respected and consistently supported by adults who believe in them.

Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for adulthood. Alongside qualifications, we focus on communication, emotional development, employability, independence and community participation. We want every student to leave Oaktree with the skills, confidence and resilience to move successfully into further education, training or work. With the end goal of them living successful, independent lives.

We do not define students by the past experiences or barriers. We focus on potential, growth and possibility. Success looks different for every individual and we celebrate success in all it’s forms.

The staff team are committed, reflective and deeply passionate about improving outcomes for our students, both academically and in their social, emotional and mental health needs. We continually strive to create an environment where students feel a sense of belonging, where they and their care givers feel listened to, respected and involved.

We are proud of the environment we have created at Oaktree and of the progress our students make during their time with us.
